Time Out with the Family

If you had a chance to spend a few moments with me, you would immediately realize how important my family is to me. There isn't anything I'd rather do than hang out with my wife and kids. Monday night is date night for my wife, Diana, and me. This gives us a chance to be alone and keep the fire burning. Otherwise, we spend time with our two children, Austin, my stepson (2/10/92), and Robert Daniel (8/17/98). You can catch our family at the movies or maybe even run into us eating dinner. Another sure place to see the Brooks family is attending church.

You won't hear a lot of shop talk and football discussions around the house. Off the field I focus on things like my family and don't talk about football. Some players can't get enough. They are either watching ESPN or playing football on Playstation. Game days are all the football I need. Like I said, I'd much rather spend any extra time with my family.

Married life has changed my priorities but I wouldn't want it any other way. I met my wife while hanging out at a restaurant with my best friend. We exchanged numbers and dated on and off for three and a half years. It wasn't a quick courtship because of all the traveling I did and my busy schedule. We exchanged wedding vows on November 4, 1997.

Since becoming a new father I see life a little differently. Everything revolves around Robert Daniel and Austin. I have to make sure everything is perfect for them because they only know what I put in front of them. I make sure Austin and Robert have good starts in life and I keep any negativity to a minimum.
